Acrylic, GAC800, and Spray Paint on Traffic Cones, Size Varies
People mostly associate traffic cones with construction sites, but Grey ‘Look Ford’ Dylan proposes we see them for what they are. Whenever cities are built and skyscrapers go up, they destroy what was there before. Not only do the cones represent the aftermath of destruction, but the production of traffic cones being made with oils and plastic has serious negative effects on the planet.
Traffic cones litter the streets, abandoned after (de)construction projects. Grey goes out and collects these bright orange beacons of our own destruction all around Baltimore City, to repurpose them and make new images. Grey paints these cones to inspire joy and curiosity. She typically chooses to paint different environments that you wouldn't normally find in today’s Baltimore.
